KUCHING, April 17: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) is set to bring the unique charm of the Land of the Hornbills to the nation’s capital at MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2025, happening at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur from April 18 to 20.
According to a press release, the Sarawak Pavilion, making a vibrant return this year, will feature over 20 exhibitors, cultural showcases, traditional crafts, and exclusive giveaways—all in one space.
Visitors can enjoy live sape and nose flute performances, traditional dances, and hands-on artisan demonstrations of tattooing, basket weaving, and more.
One of the main highlights is the special Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2025 promotion under the newly launched Sarawak Borneo Pass.
Festival-goers can enjoy limited-time one-day pass offers available only through STB’s official trade partners, along with exclusive gifts redeemable during the event. These offers are available at Booths 1A01–1A12 and 1B01–1B12.
In conjunction with the upcoming RWMF 2025, STB has announced the introduction of the Sarawak Borneo Pass—a new travel incentive initiative aimed at encouraging more visitors to experience Sarawak.
As part of its soft launch, STB is collaborating with Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) to offer a 20 per cent discount on airfares for travellers flying into Sarawak during the festival period. The promotion applies to flights operated by Malaysia Airlines and Firefly.
The booking period for the promotion runs from March 12 to June 22, 2025, while the travel period is set between June 14 and June 29, 2025.
Travellers can enjoy the discount by using the promo code MHRWMF25 for Malaysia Airlines and FYRWMF25 for Firefly.
Adding to the incentives, RHB Bank cardholders can enjoy a 5 per cent discount on Sarawak travel packages when booking through selected trade partners during the fair—making it easier than ever to plan a Sarawak getaway.
Foodies are also in for a treat with cooking demonstrations of Sarawak Laksa and Kek Lapis, accompanied by free tastings throughout the day.
Visitors can also look forward to photo ops with Sarawakian warriors and maidens, interactive trivia games, and the chance to win exclusive souvenirs. — DayakDaily
