KUCHING, Feb 2: A landslide has occurred on the main road heading to Rh Panjang Jaong Awik at Jalan Ulu Awik, Saratok, according to reports by the Civil Defence Force (APM).
It stated that the APM Saratok branch received a call from a member of the public stating that there was a landslide caused by soil erosion in front of the main road leading to the longhouse.
“The longhouse residents requested assistance from the APM Saratok to monitor the situation due to the residents’ concerns.
“Upon arriving at the location, it was confirmed that a landslide had occurred on the main road heading towards the longhouse due to the wet soil structure caused by continuous rain in the past few days,” it said.
The team proceeded to cordoned off the landslide area to prevent any accidents.
It also advised residents and visitors of the longhouse to remain vigilant and alert of their surroundings. – DayakDaily
