KUCHING, March 4: A landslide at Nanga Tisa bridge in Sungai Yong Kapit has cut off road connectivity to two longhouses.

According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the incident at 7.34am today and deployed Bomba Kapit to the location.

The operations commander reported that the incident occurred right where the bridge was situated, which resulted in the bridge’s collapse.

Based on the assessment, it is believed that the landslide occurrence is due to continuous overnight rainfall.

No casualties were reported, and a rescue operation was conducted.

As such, Bomba Kapit advised road users to be careful when passing the area and to be aware of their surroundings. — DayakDaily
