KUCHING, Jan 11: It may be time to take a deep breath of fresh air outside, with Kuching listed as having one of the cleanest air quality in the world, according to hourly air quality rankings by IQAir.
IQAir, a Swiss technology company which tracks air quality worldwide live, showed that as at 11.53am today, Kuching ranked second with its air quality index (AQI) at 13, just a spot below Sydney, Australia which recorded an AQI of 11.
Kuala Lumpur came in fourth place with an AQI of 17.
With the rainy season and cooler weather conditions, historical data on IQAir revealed that Kuching’s air quality index has been averaging around 20.45 daily since Jan 1.
The Live Major Cities Ranking on IQAir updates at least once per hour to reflect the changing air quality conditions in major cities around the world.
IQAir said, the ranking is made up of approximately 120 major cities and includes some of the largest and most well-known metropolises around the world, ordered according to AQI.
The number shown for each major city is the average (median) AQI from all the stations in that city for that particular time. — DayakDaily
