KUCHING, Oct 4: The highly anticipated Kuching Jazz Festival 2024 is set to take place from Oct 5 to 6 at the Kuching Waterfront Esplanade, featuring performances by renowned artists like Zee Avi, Rizky Febian, Parade Hujan, and others.
Organised by Hemisphere Corporation Sdn Bhd and supported by the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), the two-day festival aims to showcase both local and international talent.
Performers include Mellow Motif from Thailand, Aruel & Fasola, Fazz, Atilia Haron from Kuala Lumpur, as well as Sarawak-based act Improviser.
Speaking at a press conference at Grand Margherita Hotel today, SEDC chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain highlighted the event’s goal of positioning Kuching as a vibrant arts and cultural hub, particularly for tourists.
“Over the years, the Kuching Jazz Festival has celebrated the best of local and international talent, providing a unique platform for artists from Sarawak, Malaysia, and beyond to connect and share their stories with audiences here in Kuching.
“We expect a good turnout this year from across Sarawak, West Malaysia, and even internationally,” he said.
As of today, more than 1,500 tickets have been sold, with hopes of exceeding 2,000.
Pre-sale tickets are available at RM200 for adults and RM100 for children until today (Oct 5), while tickets will also be available for purchase at the event venue.
