KUCHING, Aug 6: Kuching Festival’s Chinese Traditional Oriental Music 2023 concert showcases a vibrant and inclusive community celebrating diversity.
Kuching South City Council’s (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, said Kuching Festival has always been a vibrant showcase of the city’s cultural diversity, and the Chinese traditional music concert perfectly embodies this diversity.
“Music has a unique ability to transcend barriers and unite us all in a harmonious melody.
“Tonight, as we immerse ourselves in the enchanting tunes of Chinese traditional music, let us embrace the shared heritage that binds us together,” he said during the launching ceremony of Kuching Festival’s Chinese Traditional Oriental Music 2023 concert held at MBKS auditorium today.
He said that the musicians and performers who will grace the stage are not just artists but cultural ambassadors.
He also said that skilful renditions would transport the audience to a bygone era, reliving past glory while embracing the promises of the future.
“As MBKS mayor, I am incredibly proud of our city’s commitment to promoting and preserving our cultural heritage,” he said. — DayakDaily
