Kuching courts limits hearings to remand cases during restricted movement order

KUCHING, March 18: Only remand cases will be heard at the Kuching court complex during the restricted movement order period from March 18 until 31.

All trials at the Kuching court complex will be suspended from today onward until March 31. New trial dates will be fixed at a later date.


Only remand cases will be heard at the Magistrate’s Court with a maximum of six court staff including the Magistrate on duty and six Investigating Officers allowed in the court building.

Security personnel with masks will be stationed at the main door of the Kuching court complex to stop the public from entering the complex.

Lawyers who wish to file in appeals may do so via the court’s e-filing system.

Operational hours will be from 8am to 12pm from Monday to Thursday, while on Friday it will be from 8am to 11.45am. — DayakDaily
