According to the Kuching Choral Society in a statement today, the event will be held at i-CATS University College, Kuching, and facilitated by an award-winning choral conductor, singer, adjudicator, and clinician, Mak Chi Hoe, and renowned soprano Wendy Yong, who hails from Kuching, Sarawak.

For the three-day event, participants can anticipate a dynamic blend of lectures, interactive sessions, and practical demonstrations, culminating in a concert featuring Mak Chi Hoe, Wendy Yong, including the award-winning SJPS Chamber Choir, the KCS Choir conducted by Benedict JC Lo, and the You Ran Ladies Ensemble conducted by Wong Yung Fung.

The primary objective of the workshop is to unite music educators, student conductors, choir leaders, and vocal enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds across Sarawak to enhance the quality of choral music in Kuching, foster a deeper understanding of vocal techniques, and refine conducting skills.

Building on the success of the recent Sarawak Choir Conductor’s Workshop, which attracted over 70 participants from across Malaysia, this upcoming event aims to refine the skills of choir conductors, educators, and enthusiasts even further.

The workshop will feature a comprehensive range of topics, including vocal techniques, clinics, masterclasses, and a concert, and will span three days of immersive learning experiences.
