Kota Padawan Health Clinic starts operating as Covid-19 vaccination centre on June 29

KUCHING, June 28: The Health Clinic at Kota Padawan will start operating as Covid-19 vaccination centre tomorrow to compliment the existing three such centres in Padawan sub-district area within Mambong constituency.

Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the centre, to become the fourth vaccination centre, will cater for nine villages from Bisitang area including Kpg Sitang, Kpg Menjau, Kpg Rabak Simboh, Kpg Tabuan Rabak, Kpg Petag, Kpg Mambong along Jalan Mambong in his constituency, besides those from Batu Kawah.


Dr Jerip, who is also Assistant Transport Minister, added the fourth such centre would help to expedite the vaccination process in Mambong constituency.

“For my clinic at Kota Padawan, it will start operating as Covid-19 vaccination centre tomorrow (June 29) and will be given 30 doses per day. But I will try to request to be given at least 100 doses per day to help expedite the vaccination process in the area (Mambong),” Dr Jerip told reporters today after visting Bra’ang Bayur Health Clinic Vaccination Centre.

For Mambong constituency, 48 villages are involved in the Covid-19 vaccination with the three centres at the clinics at Bayur, Bunuk and Padawan taking 39 villages.

Dr Jerip pointed out that his service centre has allocated RM200,000 since June 21 to help with the vaccination process, which include providing logistic, canopies to the three vaccination centres and meals to the workers and drinking water to the workers and those being vaccinated.

He added that retired nurses and Rela members are being roped in as volunteers to assist with the vaccination exercise in the constituency.

Meanwhile, Dr Jerip said the flying doctor service (FDS) has also been called in to help the vaccination exercise at Kpg Muk Ayun, Kpg Bojong Sting, Kpg Nyegol and Kpg Sapit, which are located in the upper Bengoh Dam water catchment area.

On this, he said he was glad to note that the villagers from the four villages are receptive to be vaccinated.

“For the Covid-19 vaccination exercise, we have FDS for the four villages, and this is apart from the routine FDS service for them (the four villages)”, he stressed. — DayakDaily
