Kg Tebedu Mawang, Kg Sejijak Piaman and Kg Bung Pedus residents urged to get tested for Covid-19

The notice from the Serian Division Health Office urging residents of the three villages to take Covid-19 tests immediately.

KUCHING, May 9: Residents of Kg Tebedu Mawang, Kg Sejijak Piaman and Kg Bung Pedus who have yet to take the Covid-19 swab test are advised to do so at the Tebakang and Tebedu health clinics without delay.

The Serian Health Office in a notice today said villagers who are experiencing fever, coughing, flu, diarrhea, loss of smell, sore throat and shortness of breath from April 1 to today (May 9) are encouraged to take the Covid-19 swab test at the two clinics immediately.

The Tebakang Health Clinic is open tomorrow and Tuesday from 8.30am until 10.30am while the Tebedu Health Clinic is open from Monday to Wednesday from 8:30 am until 10:30am.

Yesterday, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement disclosed a 47-year-old woman had tested positive for Covid-19 through symptomatic screening at the Tebedu Health Clinic on April 29, sparking the Tebedu Mawang Cluster which involves two villages in Tebedu.

SDMC added the woman who is the index case of the Tebedu Mawang Cluster was infected from the community and her infection has spread to family members, social contacts as well as three nearby villages and two primary schools in Tebedu.

To date, the Tebedu Mawang Cluster has accumulated 21 positive cases while 107 individuals have been swabbed. — DayakDaily
