#KeluargaMalaysia 2022 Agricommodity Tour Programme aims to engage community members

SEBUYAU, April 13: The #KeluargaMalaysia 2022 Agricommodity Tour Programme is expected to inspire community members to pursue careers in agriculture and entrepreneurship, as well as provide exposure to youths and encourage them to be actively involved in the agricultural sector.

According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Willie Mongin stated that programme participants received fertilisers, small agricultural equipment, as well as training and advisory services.

He made the remarks on Wednesday at the inauguration of the Mini Cocoa Processing Centre and farm road in Kampung Ketimbong, Sebuyau.

Apart from that, Willie added that the Mini Cocoa Processing Centre, which will be completed in July 2021, was built to provide cocoa growers in the Sebuyau area with facilities to process cocoa beans.

“A total of 14.13 hectares of crops are cultivated in the area by 16 farmers and will benefit the farmers in the village group.

“I hope that the facilities of the mini centre and farm road would provide benefits and positive impact to all participants in the cocoa plantation under the Kampung Ketimbong group, Sebuyau.

Willie also went to the Mini Cocoa Processing Centre and the Kampung Ketimbong Farm as part of another programme.
