“Jubilant”, says Minos in expressing parents’ relief on school closure for two weeks from tomorrow

Dato Peter Minos

KUCHING, April 19: Parents are jubilant following the announcement of school closure for two weeks starting tomorrow.

This is the view of political analyst Datuk Peter Minos who has a child in primary school.

“A very good and wise decision made by our YAB Chief Minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg).

“Worried parents in the Covid-19 red zones are feeling greatly relieved, including myself with a seven-year-old daughter,” said Minos in a statement today.

He said for the last one week with the drastic Covid-19 infection spikes, residents in Samarahan have been asking about the matter.

As it was natural for parents with school-going children to be very worried and concerned, his response to the parents during that time was to wait for Sarawak government to make decision.

“Now that YAB Chief Minister made the decision and announced today April 19, parents are very happy, not just feeling relieved. Jubilant in fact.

“All these remind us all, each and everyone, to strictly observe and adhere to the anti-Covid SOPs (standard operating procedures) and the rules. Together with the government, we can and will win the war against deadly Covid-19.

“And when all are vaccinated, the anti-Covid (19) war will be shortened.

He called on all to be strong and optimistic and be hopeful as the day will surely come when people’s lives will be Covid-19 free where all may get back their formal normal life. — DayakDaily
