KUCHING, July 29: The Marina Peninsula in Kota Samarahan is set to become the latest landmark in Sarawak’s evolving education landscape, with Josephian education taking a bold step into the future through a new 1,000-student campus targeted for full completion by 2030.
According to TVS, the six-acre Tan Sri Yee Ming Seng Campus at the Marina Peninsula will house both St Joseph’s Private Primary and Secondary Schools, further expanding the Josephian education network in Sarawak.
As an initial phase, primary school operations are expected to begin at a temporary facility in January 2028, while the permanent campus is currently undergoing design development, regulatory approvals and construction planning.
The project carries forward the legacy of Josephian education in Sarawak, which dates back to 1882. Established in 2012, St Joseph’s Private Primary and Secondary Schools continue to uphold a commitment to academic excellence, character development and nurturing students’ talents.
Strategically positioned within the Marina Peninsula development and surrounded by Sungai Kuap, Sungai Sajiram and Sungai Merdang, the new campus will form a key component of a wider mixed-use development featuring residential areas, commercial spaces, healthcare facilities, educational institutions and community amenities.
Designed around the concept “The Learning Confluence: A Living Watershed Campus”, the campus will feature low-rise buildings that respond to the riverside landscape, creating a sustainable, inclusive and conducive environment for learning.
However, the proposed campus remains at the planning stage and is subject to further detailed design, technical assessments and approvals from the relevant authorities before construction progresses. — DayakDaily
