Jong returns for third term as NSJA president

MIRI, March 24: The Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) elected new office bearers for the 2021-2022 term during its annual general meeting (AGM) earlier today.

Andy Jong of Sin Chew Daily was re-elected to his third-term as president. He will be assisted by his deputy, Rosemaria Buma of Utusan Borneo.

Also elected to the committee are secretary Michelle Choo Lee Nyuk (Sin Chew Daily); assistant secretary Mohd Aliff Idzwan Abdullah (Utusan Borneo); treasurer Chai Choon Chin (United Daily News); assistant treasurer Esther Ching Heng Sing.

Nine other committee members were also elected comprising Liong Chai Ling (Utusan Sarawak), Lee Cheng Choi (See Hua Daily News), Margaret Ringgit (The New Sarawak Tribune), Catherine Igang (Radio Televisyen Malaysia), Huang Ung Key (See Hua Daily News); Noriza Jau (Radio Televisyen Malaysia), Cindy Lai Pek Sian (The Borneo Post) , Liew Li Mui (United Daily News) and Rick Wong Vui Chin as the auditor.

Jong in his brief speech called on the association’s members to give their undivided support to the association.

“NSJA is a non-profit organisation and we need outsiders’ support for its continuation,” he said, while stressing on on the importance of team work.

Hence, he called on NSJA members and the new elected committee members to work together for the betterment of the association. — DayakDaily
