KUCHING, June 28: The Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development (KWKPK) will organise the International Convention on Preschool Education 2021 from Oct 1 to 3 this year.
Its Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said the three-day convention will highlight the theme “Pembinaan Watak Insan dalam Norma Baharu” (Human Character Development in The New Norm).
“It will be implemented in a hybrid manner where the participation will involve 50 face-to-face participants at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) and 450 people virtually through the Zoom Webinar platform.
“This is subject to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been set from time to time,” she said in a statement today.
Fatimah further said the convention would be jointly organised with the Early Childhood Development Division (BPAKK) and the Sarawak Early Childhood Education Development Council (MPAKS) involving educators, operators and nanny from government and private kindergartens and nurseries to elevate early childhood education as an important foundation in forming human capital excellent and quality.
“The objectives of the convention are to increase the knowledge of educators on the basis of human character formation in children; identify challenges in shaping children’s human character, talents, interests and potential during the Covid-19 pandemic; and to improve educators’ skills in new norms to cultivate and nurture children’s spiritual, cognitive, social, physical and emotional development,” she added. — DayakDaily
