Inaugural S’wak Invitational Interteam Pickleball Challenge draws 27 teams from M’sia, S’pore, Brunei

MIRI, May 6: In a thrilling display of skill and determination, the inaugural Sarawak Invitational Interteam Pickleball Challenge 2024 witnessed 27 teams vying for glory, with 350 players, some as young as 15, showcasing their prowess in the sport.

The tournament, held at Kan Seng Sports in Lutong from May 3-5, brought together participants from Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam.


Paragon Perfecto Miri emerged as the champions in the Interteam category, showcasing their dominance on the court.

The second spot was secured by X1 from Miri, with the Warriors, also from Miri, clinching third place.

In the fiercely contested Singles Open category, Collin Wong Wei Ming from Kuala Lumpur emerged as the champion, displaying exceptional skill and determination.

Rhushdy Supardi from Miri secured the first runner-up position, while Stefan Alex from Kota Kinabalu claimed the second runner-up spot.

The Masters Mixed Doubles category witnessed intense battles, with Elaine Chaw and Hari Mohan from Singapore emerging as the winners.

Cao Xiao Ju and Jasen Tham, also from Singapore, secured the first runner-up position, while Monaliza Ibrahim and Andrew Soo from Miri/USA claimed the second runner-up spot.

Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew graced the event and presented prizes to the winners, acknowledging their exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
