Inaugural ‘Sarawak-Korea Energy Business Forum 2022’ to be held tomorrow (June 9)

KUCHING, June 8: The inaugural ‘Sarawak-Korea Energy Business Forum 2022’ jointly organised by the Sarawak government and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Malaysia will be held on June 9 at the Waterfront Hotel here.

This first collaboration between the Sarawak government and the Embassy of Republic of Korea in Malaysia aims to bring together all stakeholders in the field of energy and to explore the potential of Sarawak-Korea cooperation in energy sector, particularly in renewable energy and hydrogen.

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Malaysia His Excellency Lee Chi Boem held that there is ample room for collaboration between Korea and Sarawak in the sector.

“The Sarawak-Korea Energy Business Forum will provide an opportunity for Korean businessmen to discover the growth potential of Sarawak and hopefully the forum will serve as an excellent platform for further increase cooperation between South Korea and Sarawak,” he said.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who will be the guest of honour at the event will deliver his keynote address for strategic partnership between South Korea and Sarawak, focusing on the energy industry.

More than 100 participants from both public and business communities from South Korea and Sarawak are expected to participate in the business forum to explore and create more strategic alliances betweenSouth  Korea and Sarawak. — DayakDaily
