‘If you are not a Covid-19 contact do not to rush for tests at the Sibu screening centres’

SIBU, Jan 13: The Sibu Disaster Management Committee has urged those who are not in close contact with Covid-1 positive cases, not to rush to the Sibu Indoor Stadium and the Drive-thru at the State Library for screening.

The advice came as the two places were today congested with people waiting for their turn to be tested.

There was also a long line of vehicles leading to the Drive-up swab test at the library. As a result, the police had to close the road junction leading to the library.

The committee in a statement said those who are not in close contact with the positive cases, “possibly have the lower chances of infection” and should not rush to have swab test if they do not have any sign or symptoms.

“We appeal to the people to give priority to those ‘close-contact’ persons to complete their swab test. Be honest to the officers on duty at these two centres,” it appealed.

The committee said that there is still a lot of time for people to have their screening as these two centres would be in operation daily and would not be closed so soon.
