Iban artiste pleads not guilty to criminal breach of trust

KUCHING, March 13: An Iban artiste pleaded not guilty to two criminal breach of trust charges of misappropriating a total of RM43,045.58 belonging to the company he partnered with.

Magistrate Faelly Jeffery Lanjungan allowed the accused to be released on cash bail of RM5,000 with two sureties with income not less than RM2,000 and fixed March 25 for pre-trial case management.

The accused, 37, was charged with two charges, for dishonestly misappropriating the property of the complainant amounting to RM21,974.43 and RM21,071.15 respectively at Central Park Commercial Centre Hong Leong Bank on October 5, 2018 and November 5, 2018.

For both charges, he was charged under Section 403 of the Penal Code which carries a imprisonment term of not less than six months and not more than five years, and whipping, and shall also be liable to fine if convicted.

Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang was the prosecuting officer while the accused was unrepresented. — DayakDaily
