KUCHING, July 22: Laughter, music and family entertainment filled H&L Xtra at Kota Padawan Mall today as hundreds of shoppers gathered for the H&L 722 Member Carnival Day, a special Sarawak Independence Day 2026 celebration organised to show appreciation to loyal members and give back to the community.
The one-day carnival transformed the shopping mall into a lively hub of excitement, with children meeting mascots, families taking part in games and contests, and visitors enjoying live performances and various activities throughout the day.

H&L Marketing manager Jennifer Jong said the carnival was organised as a celebration for H&L members while strengthening ties between the company, families and the local community.
She said visitors were treated to a wide range of family-friendly programmes, including an animal showcase by Borneo Happy Farm, a colouring contest, dance competition, interactive games, mascot appearances and other engaging activities.
“The carnival is our way of saying thank you to our loyal members and shoppers for their continuous support over the years. We hope everyone enjoys the fun atmosphere and creates wonderful memories with their families,” she told reporters at the carnival today.

Jong said the carnival, held exclusively at the Kota Padawan Mall branch, was also part of H&L’s efforts to build stronger relationships with the community through meaningful activities that could be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Throughout the celebration, children enthusiastically participated in contests and activities while parents cheered them on. Families also took the opportunity to explore activity booths, meet mascots, enjoy the festive atmosphere and take advantage of H&L membership benefits, including discounts and points collection for future purchases.
She added that the colourful celebration reflected H&L’s appreciation for its customers and its commitment to remaining closely connected with the community beyond its role as a retail destination. — DayakDaily
