KUCHING, Nov 26: The Miri Country Music Fest (MCMF) will be holding a virtual mini-concert on Friday and Saturday at 8 pm, through the MCMF Facebook page.

According to MCMF founder Gracie Geikie, who is also the show’s host and emcee, the MCMF 2020 Tribute show, organised by Place Borneo Sdn Bhd, will include virtual performances and conversations with past MCMF performers from all over.

“Our main aim with this free online concert is to keep country music alive, to entertain those at home, and to announce plans for next year’s festival,” she said in a press statement, today.

Gracie noted among the musicians making their appearance on the show are Tantowi Yahya & The Brafaks (Indonesia), 2Country4Nashville (USA), Raggy (Malaysia), Kamal Bukhary (Malaysia) and Johnny Cash Experience (Germany).

She said these performers have all performed on the MCMF stage since the first edition of the annual festival in 2014.

“The tribute will also have a talk show segment where topics of discussion will be on virtual festivals and getting young musicians to enjoy country music.

“A giveaway is also happening for MCMF fans who post their past pictures at the festival, with a chance to win MCMF official t-shirts,” she added.
