KUCHING, April 1: There is a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak this evening, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang.
The warning, which was issued at 5.50pm today, will remain in effect until 9pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted.
The thunderstorm warning comes following an earlier statement that Limbang has been placed on Level 1 hot weather alert due to persistent high daily temperature between 35°C to 37°C. — DayakDaily
