Limbang placed under Level 1 hot weather alert following registration of high temp of 37°C

KUCHING, April 1: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has placed Limbang on Level 1 alert due to persistent high daily temperature between 35°C to 37°C.

According to a MetMalaysia statement issued today and updated at 4.30pm, Limbang has been classified as having hot weather conditions, with temperatures exceeding 35°C and reaching 37°C for at least three consecutive days.


MetMalaysia defines its hot weather alerts as: Level 1 (Alert): maximum daily temperature 35°C to 37°C for at least three consecutive days; Level 2 (Heat Wave): maximum daily temperature exceeding 37°C to 40°C for at least three consecutive days and Level 3 (Extreme Heat Wave): maximum daily temperature above 40°C for at least three consecutive days.

The department further advised the public to refer to its website at www.met.gov.my and social media platforms or download the myCuaca application to obtain the latest and accurate information. — DayakDaily
