Health Ministry calls for fit medical volunteers aged 18-60

KUCHING, May 27: The Ministry of Health (MoH) is calling for medical and health personnel outside the Ministry to volunteer their services to help manage the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a recruitment notice by MoH today, the Ministry said the positions available are for medical officers, dental officers, assistant medical officers, nurses, environmental health officers, assistant environmental health officers and medical laboratory technologists.

“The volunteers aged 18 to 60 years old must be physically and mentally fit and for females, they must not be pregnant.

“The volunteers who are not members of the MoH must get approvals from their employers and are willing to work at locations where they are needed,” said the Ministry.

MoH also noted that those who are interested must not have histories of close contacts with Covid-19 cases in the last 14 days.

For additional information, the Ministry said transportation, accommodation, food, allowances or salaries would not be provided for these volunteers and all expenses during their services are to be self-borne.
