MIRI, Sept 23: Several graves at the Riam Anglican cemetery here have been vandalised by unknown inviduals.
A police report over the matter was filed on Sunday morning, disclosed Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted on Monday.
The discovery was made when a 26-year-old man and his mother went to the cemetery to visit the former’s late grandfather’s grave around 9.30am. They were shocked to see the grave vandalised.
“The last time they visited the grave was a week ago,” said Lim.
Several nearby graves were also vandalised and ransacked.
The case is being investigated under Section 297 of the Penal Code for trespassing on burial places. — DayakDaily
