Pub brawl lands seven men in police lock-up

MIRI, Sept 23: Seven men aged 20 to 59 have been taken under police custody for their alledged involvement in a pub brawl.

The incident which reportedly occurred early Sunday morning left the premises owner injured.


Miri Police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted confirmed the arrests.

Prior to the incident, the suspects visited the outlet and ordered some drinks.

When the bartender who is also the owner of the outlet served their drinks and asked for payment, the suspects become outraged and an altercation ensued between them.

The 3am incident escalated, when one of the suspects began hurling drinking glasses and punched the victim.

The offence is framed under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting. — DayakDaily
