KUCHING, Dec 6: A three-cornered fight will take place in N27 Sebuyau as Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Datuk Julaihi Narawi is set to defend the seat against Wan Chee Wan Mahjar of Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) and Maxwell Rojis of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).

In announcing the candidates, Election Commission (EC) returning officer Zainap Halip said Julaihi had submitted his candidacy form at 9.05am, followed by Wan Chee at 9.09am and Maxwell at 9.24am at the Sebuyau Sub-district Office nomination centre today.

“All the candidacy forms have been checked and none of them were rejected,” she said.

Sebuyau is considered a GPS stronghold as Julaihi has retained the seat since it was first created in 1991.

In the 2016 Sarawak Election, Julaihi scored 4,531 votes against Wan Abdillah Wan Ahmad of Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) who secured 1,789 votes and Andrew Jain of Amanah with only 164 votes. — DayakDaily
