MIRI, Dec 6: Zulhaidah Suboh of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Lila Mohamad of the Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) and Dyanne Oshield Nickson of Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) will be vying to unseat incumbent Dr Ripin Lamat from Gabungan Parti Sarawak-Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (GPS-PBB) in N72 Lambir for the 12th Sarawak Election.

Lila is a former PBB Pujut Women chief.

Before leaving PBB for PSB in July last year, Lila was a PBB Women Supreme Council member for 36 years.

This would be Zolhaidah and Dr Ripin’s second time to battle each other after a period of 10 years since the Sarawak election in 2011.

First-timer, Dyanne arrived at the nomination centre with her supporter and seconder.

Dr Ripin first won Lambir in 2011 as a Barisan Nasional direct candidate.

In the 11th Sarawak election in 2016, he won the seat for a second term with 7,503 votes, defeating two of his opponents, Mohdar Ismail from PKR (2,596) and Arif Paijo of Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (829). — DayakDaily
