GPS logo design competition winners revealed

KUCHING, August 13: The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) logo design competition winners have been officially announced via its social media page with Voon Cherng Jyh declared as the winner.

Second place goes to Denna Ance Bunas while third place goes to Noor Shizarin Isnin.

The five consolation prizes winners are Brendan Goh Chuan Lung, Sahrein Maloh, Abdur Rahman Abdul Rahim, Lee Ren Wei and Sharifah Ayauyah Wan Abdul Rahman.


The competition was launched by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on June 20.

Initially the logo was supposed to be launched on July 22 in conjunction with Sarawak Day. However, it was delayed as GPS has not been officially registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS).

The winner Voon will walk away with RM10,000 in prize money while Denna will receive RM5,000 and Noor Shizarin will bag RM3,000.

The five consolation winners will get RM1,000 each.

State Barisan Nasional officially announced the formation of GPS on June 12 this year. It consists of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party, Parti Rakyat Sarawak and Progressive Democratic Party.

GPS secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi had told DayakDaily recently that GPS will be launched by GPS chairman Abang Johari when the party is officially registered with ROS.

At press time, both Nanta and GPS spokesperson cum Assistant Minister of Corporate Affairs Abdullah Saidol could not be reached for comments. — DayakDaily
