Going out without a legitimate reason most common SOP violation so far during MCO

KUCHING, June 3: Going out without a good reason was the most commonly flouted rule during the current Movement Control Order (MCO) period, with 25 compounds issued by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) so far.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), other standard operating procedure (SOP) violations were gathering in public places (7), and carrying passengers exceeding the permissible limit (6).

Other offenses include failure to wear a facemask (3), being in public places exceeding the time limit (2), district crossing without a police permit (2), failure to register before entering a premise (2) and operating beyond the time limit (2).


The committee added, a total of 53 compounds have been issued by PDRM in districts throughout the state namely in Kuching (30), Sarikei (4), Sibu (3), Saratok (3), Simunjan (3), Serian (3), Bintulu (2), Miri (2), Padawan (2), and Kapit (1) for SOP violations, bringing the total amount of compounds issued since March 18, 2020 until today to 7,098 compounds.

On the same note, SDMC said a total of nine compounds were also issued by the local authority (PBT) for various SOPs violation, namely failure to update the registration book (3), failure to scan the MySejahtera application (3), failure to wear facemask (1), ferrying passenger more than the limit set (1) and failure to ensure SOP compliance in business premise (1).

This brings the total amount of compounds issued by PBT since February 2021 until today to 858 compounds. — DayakDaily
