KUCHING, Aug 22: Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) will return to its roots by contesting in the Bandar Kuching, Mas Gading, Serian, and Puncak Borneo parliamentary seats in the coming 15th General Election (GE15).
According to its president Lina Soo, the party is also still open (for negotiation and discussion) and will try its best to compromise with other Opposition parties.
āWe are talking with other political parties to reduce the chances of multi-cornered fights because it will only benefit GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak),ā she said during a press conference held at a local hotel here today.
She added that Aspirasi also would discuss and negotiate with the main Opposition party, namely Pakatan Harapan (PH).
āWe are hoping that we can still sit down. The best is to go for a one-on-one fight, this is the logical way,ā she said.
Meanwhile, its chairman George Young Si Ricord Junior, said Aspirasi has the capability to deliver the Bidayuh community’s voice.
He also believed that the Bidayuh should come on board and join Aspirasi in its struggles.
āHere we are, the new breed of leaders; we can voice out our aspiration for the community, especially the Dayak community.
āI would like once again to invite all our Dayak leaders, young and old, on this political journey,ā he said. ā DayakDaily
