BINTULU, Jan 17: A family of four, including an elderly woman and a child, was injured after their 4WD vehicle collided with a oil-palm laden lorry at Baku junction along Jalan Bintulu-Miri this morning.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak which responded to an emergency at 6.12am immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from the Bintulu Station to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that passersby had already assisted all the victims out of the vehicle, and had received initial medical treatment from on-site paramedics.
The victims, consisting of two adults, an elderly woman, and a child, were transferred to Bintulu Hospital in two ambulances.
Firefighters then conducted flushing at the accident site of debris and moved the 4WD vehicle to the road shoulder to prevent traffic congestion. — DayakDaily
