SIBU, May 15: A 32-year-old man lost his life in a tragic accident involving a lorry yesterday evening.
According to Sibu District Police Chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, the accident occurred around 6pm at the Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce traffic lights intersection.
The victim was riding a motorcycle and had attempted to overtake a lorry traveling in the middle lane in the same direction.
Unfortunately, he lost control of his motorcycle and fell onto the lorry’s tire.
“As a result of the accident, the victim, a local man, suffered serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sibu Hospital Ambulance,” Zulkipli reported.
The incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to reckless driving that results in death. — DayakDaily
