KUCHING, Dec 26: Four individuals were critically injured in a collision involving two vehicles collision at Jalan Seniawan-Bau past midnight today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak reported that the accident involved a Perodua Axia and a Toyota Vios.
The team of firefighters from Bau Station, who responded to the emergency at 12.09am, discovered the 23-year-old driver of the Perodua Axia trapped in his seat upon arrival at the scene.
Additionally, three other passengers of the car, two males in their 20s and a 19-year-old girl were severely injured.
Firefighters immediately acted to extricate the driver, and paramedics provided initial on-site treatment, including fixing a cervical collar on him.
Subsequently, two ambulances transported all victims to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
The driver and passenger(s) of the Toyota Vios had been assisted out of the vehicle by passersby and transferred to the Bau Hospital prior to the arrival of the Bomba team.
The Bomba team concluded their operation after flushing the road to clear off debris from the wrecked cars and ensuring the safety of the area. — DayakDaily
