Former storekeeper pleads guilty to theft charge, released on bond of good behaviour

KUCHING, May 29: The Magistrate’s Court released a former storekeeper for a convenience store on a bond of good behaviour for two years.

Mohd Nazri Haili, 26, was charged with committed theft by stealing cash amounting to RM3,878.40, belonging to the convenience store at a mall here on November 26, 2018.


He pleaded guilty before Magistrate Nuruhuda Mohd Yusof. The magistrate executed a bond of good behaviour under Section 294 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) in the sum of RM2,500 with two family members as surety for a period of two years.

The accused was charged under Section 408 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years and shall also be liable to a fine.

Deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Hafiz Musa prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented. — DayakDaily
