BETONG, Oct 20: A factory at Tanjung Manis suffered damage when three switch boxes caught fire on Saturday night.
According to a report from the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, one of the switch boxes about 4×3 sq feet in size which supplied power to factory machines was completely destroyed during the incident.
Seven firefighters from Tanjung Manis were deployed at the location led by PBK II Awang Busrah, including five off-duty officers who were recalled.
Upon arrival, the firefighters cut off the electricity supply before putting out the fire. No casualties were reported.
Neither the factory structure nor machines caught fire during the incident. The cause and the amount of losses are still under investigation. — DayakDaily
