BAU, Dec 30: Assistance for chronic diseases, education and housing for the poor will continue to be implemented in Puncak Borneo.

In stating this, Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin said this was necessary to help the less fortunate groups in the constituency.

“As an MP, providing assistance to the less privileged group in the area will continue because this is the commitment to help the people in the area in looking after their welfare,” Willie pointed out today during his walkabout at Kampung Tringgus Bong, here.

He cited where more than 30 houses in the area were either repaired or built anew last year.

There was also assistance to provide wheelchairs to patients of chronic diseases over the years, he stressed.

According to him, there were already seven applications – four from Mambong constituency and three from Serumbu – under the housing for the poor programmes.

He anticipated more applications to his service centre in days to come.

Willie also pointed out that he has yet to receive any allocation since the conclusion of the 15th General Election (GE15), thus would not commit himself to announce any projects or allocations just yet.

“Ever since GE15, I have not been given the allocation, but be rest assured that the allocation be given once I have it,” he asserted.

During the walkabout, Willie also visited patients suffering from chronic disease and the dilapidated houses of two families, where he promised to help. — DayakDaily
