Damaged Jalan Sg Tapang repaired following action by Kota Sentosa rep

KUCHING, Dec 30: CMS Road Maintenance team has immediately repaired the dilapidated section of Jalan Sungai Tapang in Kota Sentosa here which has caused a lot of inconvenience to the residents.

This action was taken after Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap brought up the issue with the Public Works Department (JKR) Kuching following complaints and assistance requests from the residents of the village.

Following a discussion between the parties involved including the contractor of a nearby public works project, Yap said that the repair work was completed yesterday (Dec 29) and the contractor also gave commitment to ensure that the load on their lorries using the road will be reduced.

“JKR Kuching has also assured that the road condition will be maintained regularly during the construction period of the nearby public works project.

“I will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that all the necessary periodic maintenance works on the village road are carried out and completed properly,” he said in a statement today.

Noting that the public have the right to complain, Yap however advised that such complaints should be made officially and not through social media or issuance of media statements to ensure that the relevant authorities can take effective corrective and preventive action for the sake of all parties involved.

“Complaining on social media and through the issuance of press statements which is something that some politicians are very fond of for publicity are definitely not effective. There are proper channels to get things done.
