KUCHING, July 23: Malaysian Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub has passed away at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah at 9.23pm earlier tonight.
According to a statement by his press secretary Syakirin Husnal, arrangements are being made to send Salahuddin’s remains to his mother’s home in Kampung Serkat (Kopi Tenggek) in Tanjung Piai, Johor.
“The KPDN Minister’s Office will provide more information on the process of his funeral in the near future.
“In connection with that, the family of the deceased would like to express their utmost appreciation and gratitude to all parties for the prayers and well-wishes given to the deceased over the years.
“The deceased’s family would also like to thank all the doctors and staff at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar, Kedah.
“May he be placed among the righteous. Amin,” he wrote in a statement.
Salahuddin, 61, who was Pulai MP, suffered a brain haemorrhage on Saturday (July 22) and underwent surgery the next morning (July 23).
Salahuddin leaves behind his wife, Datin Fatimah Taha, and six children. — DayakDaily
