KUCHING, April 4: The operating hours at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security Complex (ICQS) in Merapok and Sindumin will be extended to 12am in conjunction with this Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
According to a TVS news report today, Limbang Division Resident Yunus Tambi stated that the State governments of Sarawak and Sabah have agreed to extend the time period at ICQS Merapok Lawas and Sindumin Sabah from 6am to 12 midnight, April 6 to April 17, instead of 10pm on weekdays.
“Thank you to the governments of Sarawak and Sabah for giving us the flexibility to continue operations at ICQS Merapok Lawas and Sindumin border gates,” he was quoted as saying in the news report.
Yunus made the remarks while speaking to reporters during the Setulus Kasih Ramadan Programme in Limbang yesterday (April 3).
He added that he was still waiting for Brunei’s decision on extending the operation periods at ICQS Sungai Tujoh Miri, ICQS Tedungan, ICQS Pandaruan Limbang, and ICQS Mengkalap Trusan.
He further remarked that the extension of time at ICQS will only come into effect after the Sabah and Brunei governments have agreed. — DayakDaily
