MIRI, July 24: More than 1,588 job vacancies are up for grabs in the upcoming ‘Datuk Sebastian’s 2022 Education, Career, and Entrepreneur Fair’ from July 30-31, to be held at Meritz Hotel in Miri.

“A total of 91 booths will be set up where more than 13 companies, mainly from the oil and gas industry, and 20 higher learning institutions have confirmed their participation in the event,” said Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting.

The upcoming event combines education, career, and entrepreneur opportunities under one roof.

“We also have the participation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) including finance institutions for the programme,” said the event’s organising chairman Cr Leslie Lau in a press conference today.

The fair is a project initiated by the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Piasau service centre Youth Branch with the Miri Division Education Initiative Society (MEIS).

He added that they would also be working with the MMS Education Centre, Social Security Organisation (Socso), and Chamber of Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs (DUBS) Miri branch.

The event will start from 10am to 5pm, and entrance is free. — DayakDaily
