KUCHING, Jan 20: Former Lubok Antu MP Datuk William Nyallau Badak has passed away at the age of 74.
He passed away due to heart failure at the Sarawak Heart Centre in Samarahan.
Born on July 22, 1951, he was an MP for two terms from 2008 to 2018. Before entering politics, he was a Native Court judge.
He was with Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) but joined Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) in 2019 after being sacked from PRS on April 22, 2008.
In the Sarawak Election in 2021, he contested for the Batang Ai seat as a PSB candidate in a four-corner fight but lost to PRS candidate Datuk Malcom Mussen Lamoh.
On November 8, 2022, he resigned from PSB and pledged his loyalty to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS). — DayakDaily
