KUCHING, Nov 4: Emart Batu Kawa will be closed from 8pm today for disinfection and sanitisation operation following a visit by two positive Covid-19 cases linked to Wisma Saberkas Cluster.
In a statement today, Emart Batu Kawa management revealed that the two cases were telco promoters from Wisma Saberkas who had attended duty for a Digi Roadshow booth held at the premises from Oct 30 until Nov 1.
For the health safety of valued customers, business partners and employees, Emart Batu Kawa thus will be closed for a day for disinfection and sanitisation to be carried out.
The business operation will resume tomorrow (Nov 5) at 12pm.
The Management also informed that all relevant employees and business partners including frontliners who have had close contacts with the positive cases have been requested to undergo Covid-19 screening.
The Management also encouraged those who might have physical or direct close contact with the telco promoters during the roadshow period to go for tests as a precautionary measure.
It also assured that its businesses are operated independently and their employees are not moving in between outlets.
The Management also gave the assurance in its readiness to assist the authorities in any contact tracing if required.
They thus appealed to the community not to spread any unverified news that could create unnecessary panic.
The Management emphasised that they will always ensure its mall strictly adheres to standard operating procedures (SOP) issued by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
Regular disinfection of all common areas and surfaces have been carried out and will continue to be observed.
