KUCHING, Sept 6: Between 2016 to 2021, Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian secured RM12.373 million under the Malaysian Road Records Information System (Marris) for the resurfacing of 145.2km of roads in Batu Kawah constituency.
According to a statement issued by Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Batu Kawah branch, this year, through Dr Sim’s effort, RM866,000 had been allocated for 29 projects to upgrade 3.4km of roads.
The statement reported Dr Sim’s inspection of a road upgrading project under Marris at Lorong 4A Field Force Road where he also listened to constructive suggestions from the residents who expressed appreciation for the project.
Dr Sim was accompanied by political secretary to the Sarawak premier Tan Kai and SUPP Batu Kawah chairman Lim Ah Ted.
The statement revealed that Dr Sim had successfully obtained additional funds of over RM12.05 million from Marris from year 2016 till recent, for the implementation of drainage system projects in Batu Kawah, Dr Sim’s constituency.
“Other than that, Dr Sim will also implement 15 RTP (Rural Transformation Programme) (projects) worth RM5 million in N14 Batu Kawah,” said the statement.
“In terms of welfare, Dr Sim has repaired the houses of 263 poor families in his constituency since 2018, with a total cost of RM3,536,220, and there are still a number of repairs underway.” — DayakDaily
