KUCHING, Nov 21: Longhouse residents in the State should not be divided just because of differing political beliefs.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Bukit Begunan incumbent Datuk Mong Dagang said the local community should instead assess the capabilities of a government without being influenced by personal agendas.

ā€œThe State government led by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has been proven successful in bringing various (forms) of progress and development.

ā€œAs such, it is not a loss for the people to continue to support GPS and they should not be divided just because of politics,ā€ he said during the ‘Randau GPS’ programme held in Rh Ramping in Klauh, and Rh Faizal in Engkeramut, yesterday.

He also reminded the people, especially in Bukit Begunan, to give a mandate to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to continue to govern the State.

ā€œThe GPS development plan for 2020-2030, is seen to be able to lift the economy as well as (support the) progress of Sarawak,ā€ he added. ā€” DayakDaily
