KUCHING, May 6: Dewan Negara president Senator Datuk Mutang Tagal is currently receiving medical treatment in Kuala Lumpur after coming back from an overseas trip to Azerbaijan.
According to a statement from Dewan Negara’s Office, Mutang arrived in KL around 1am today before rushing to the hospital.
Prior to that, he was in Azerbaijan for a work visit from April 29 and returned earlier than scheduled.
“Senator Datuk Mutang Tagal expressed his gratitude to all parties in Malaysia and Azerbaijan who had assisted on his treatment in Azerbaijan and return to Malaysia for further treatment.
“He also expressed his thanks for all the well wishes and prayers on his recovery from everyone and appreciates the time and space given to him and his family throughout the treatment period,” the statement read.
Mutang was leading a delegation from Malaysia to attend the ‘6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue’ taking place from May 1 to 3 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Prior to that, he has paid courtesy calls on Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, and attended meetings and briefings by local industry players. — DayakDaily
