KUCHING, March 4: Over 60 per cent of public feedback received through council service centres are about local council services, says Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.

The Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government said however, it does not necessarily means that the local councils are not doing their part because some of the feedback received are compliments.

ā€œBut on the bright side, we can use this as feedback to improve the service delivery and to ensure that we do what the public wants, and not what we want,ā€ he said when representing Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian at the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chinese New Year 2024 celebration held at the MPP office foyer today.

He also advised councilors and council staff to double their efforts in addressing common and public complaints.

He emphasise that it is important when it involves waste management, clogged drains, flash floods and many others.

ā€œWe need to ensure that in the future, certain things will not repeat again, because now, the expectation of the public is getting higher,ā€ he added.

Also present were Senator Dato Ahmad Ibrahim, Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Lo Khere Chiang, Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin and other guests. ā€” DayakDaily
