KUCHING, Sept 7: More funding is needed from the Federal ministry to promote Sarawak tourism events, says Datuk Snowdan Lawan.
According to Snowdan, who is Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP), the allocation is needed especially from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) itself.
“It is to assist MTCP in promoting Sarawak overall, including holding joint events together with Motac,” he told a press conference held at Baitulmakmur Building 2 here today.
Snowdan was responding to a question asked by reporters on his hopes ahead of the tabling of the 2023 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat scheduled on Oct 13.
He said that in terms of development, of course Sarawak needs more development and budget, being the partner in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
“As you know Sarawak is a huge State and we need a lot of funds, especially in terms of infrastructure,” he added. — DayakDaily
