Decomposed body with missing limbs found floating in Batang Rajang

SIBU, Sept 8: Police recovered a decomposed body floating in the Batang Rajang near Nan Chong Ferry Jetty near Paradom here.

Members of the public called the Sibu District Police Command Centre around 9.20am today, after sighting the body floating in the water.

Sibu Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit told reporters that his men from the Lanang Police Station and the Sibu Marine Police were despatched to the scene, and found a badly decomposed body floating face down.


As of press time, the identity of the body, with its left arm and leg missing, remains unknown, except for the fact that the remains belong to a male with a distinct tattoo on the right calf.

“The initial investigation revealed no visible wounds on the body which could have cause his death, apart from the missing limbs. The case is classified as sudden death while waiting for a full autopsy report,” said Stanley. — DayakDaily
