BINTULU, Sept 8: A fire started in the sawdust of a four-storey silo has partly damaged a plywood factory which is situated at KM59 of Bintulu-Selangau Road on Saturday evening.
Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call at about 8pm and rushed to the scene.
Bomba managed to control the fire from spreading further by 10pm and ended their operation at 1.39am after they did an overall checking the whole premises this morning.
Bomba estimated that the fire had caused 90 per cent damage to the silo, 40 per cent damage to its dust collector machine and five per cent damage to the permanent structure of the factory.
No casualties were reported during the fire. — DayakDaily
